Shantinath Jain temple, popularly called as T Nagar Jain temple, is the most important Jain temple in Chennai city. The strikingly beautiful marble temple has Shantinath as the main deity.
The ceiling is full of small sculptures of musicians, dancers and various Jain deities. The main idol has the idols of Sunvrath and Shreyansanath on either sides. Mahavir and Goutham are also found near the entrance of the main shrine.
The prakara (corridor) surrounding the main shrine has two more shrine. The first shrine is dedicated to Padmavathy. The second shrine has six idols - Adinath, Anthariksha Parswanath, Jirawala Parswanath, Padmaprabhu, Sheetalnath and Neminath.
The white colored temple is locally popular for its beautiful modern day Jain temple architecture.
