Sangali: The State Government has deliberately excluded Muslims and Christians from the purview of the proposed Act for taking over temples. The only intention of the Government to pass the �Maharashtra Temples and Religious Institutions Take Over Act� is to lay hands on the funds collected by the Temple Trusts. Considering the ensuing elections and protection of interests of the politicians, the Government should not dare to pass the proposed Act else the campaign against the Act will become more intense and it will have to face serious consequences. This warning was given in the press conference by Shri. Vishram Bapat of the famous Sree Radha-Krushna Mandir.
Shri. Bapat further stated that a protest march would be organized on 2nd December for revoking all anti-Hindu Acts. The march would be taken to the District Collector's office. Trustees of all temples, members of Hindu organizations and staunch Hindus would participate in the march. The Govt. is passing this Act only to repay its debts running into crores of rupees. If only the property acquired by elected representatives is declared, it would be enough to pay back all the debts. Why is the Govt. not giving it a thought?
The State Government appointed 'Kochar Commission' to make enquiry into Mandhardevi mishap. Even before its report is received, the Govt. is planning to pass the proposed Act. 'Kochar' committee has not held the management of the temple responsible for the mishap. Shri. Mohanlalji Bafna, President of the Jain Shwetambar Temple said that the purpose of passing the Act for eradication of Blind Faith is not very noble as views of only atheists are taken into account by ignoring saints. If both the Acts are not withdrawn, there will be intense agitations. He further said that the Govt. is trying to develop the area around temples as tourists' spots. The objective of temples is to develop devotion and not to create tourists places. So such move of the Government will also be opposed. Members of many Hindu organizations attended the press conference.
Black Magic Bill will be strongly opposed
Akola: Shri Gopikishenji Bajoria, a Shiv Sena Member of the Legislative Council assured that his party is keeping a vigil on every move taken towards passing the proposed Black Magic Bill (Bill on eradication of Blind Faith). He said that so far only his party has strongly opposed the said Bill. Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti called on him when he was talking to them.
Shri Bajoria further said that his party was obligated to look after Hindus' interests; but Hindus were not awakened. They keep on electing incompetent persons; Shri Bajoria was commenting on the recent results of municipal elections. The other MLA from Akola heard the whole background about the proposed Acts and later assured that as a Hindu, he would vote against the proposed Act.
