Laws for Hindus only! Not for Muslims!

Two forms of laws are getting apparent in length and breadth of the Indian state of Bengal; while every sort of harsh law is being enforced against Hindus, minority community, virtually Muslim, is being given exemption (in every capacity) regarding same offences.

This is not any baseless claim – a musical soiree (jalsa) was organized by Muslims on January 1, 2013 at Kalasbazar, Block: Magrahat, District: 24 Paraganas (South) throughout the night flouting all civilized and legal norms. Even if the gathering left sufferings for people in the environs, especially for patients, police remained silent despite repeated pleas. And the painful experience continued till 4am in the morning. Law and order was raped once more.

Had Hindus done the same, the entire soiree would have been devastated, let alone putting Hindu leaders behind the bars. Myriad instances of such developments are there and how police and administration across Bengal is engaged to warn Hindus of dire consequences (if there is any violation of police’s instructions) is known to all.

According to Memo: 367/ICA/NB/PN Date: 09/10/2012 (Kolkata Police notification on use of microphones and sound boxes during Durga Puja & Lakshmi Puja), use of any microphone or sound box without requisite permission and violation of the aforesaid directions or any other conditions imposed by the authority granting such permission is actionable and punishable Under Section 17D of the Calcutta Suburban Police Act, 1866 as amended in the year 1962 and Section 34A of Police Act, 1861 amended in the year 1963 (West Bengal Amendment XXXVIII of 1963) and P.A. System and other equipment will also be liable to be seized.

Such laws prevail throughout Bengal; Hindus remain subject to the same while Muslims are given a free rein at every nook.

Does democracy in India mean Muslim appeasement only?

Hindu Samhati regularly monitors and reports violations against Hindus in West Bengal. We also work with both governmental and NGO agencies for proper education on protection and ensure remedies to the Hindu populace as per prevailing law of the land.
