Hindu Villagers Foil attack by Muslim Mob in Ramnagar

Village : Dakshin (South)  Ramnagar Puratan Hatkhola;  Police Station : Baruipur;  District : 24 Paraganas (South); West Bengal.

 

South 24 Parganas is all set to become a graveyard for local Hindus, thanks to indifferent attitude of the Administration against perpetrators inspired by Islamism. Every single day, more and more villages are becoming targets for anti-social activities in an organized manner. It is not surprising the most of these activities are directed against the Hindus.

 

On 13th January, 2013, a local club – Ramnagar Milan Sangha organized a musical event in the village of Dakshin Ramnagar Puratan Hatkhola, under Baruipur police station. It went well until some boys belonging to the Muslim community started indulging in indecent activities against local Hindu girls. It is reported that the boys teased the girls and also tried to molest them. The situation turned tense as Hindu boys protested. The Muslims attacked the Hindus and violence broke out. Ultimately, the Hindus beat back the attacking Muslims.

 

Later that night, a few thousand Muslim youth surrounded the village with the intention of revenge, but the alert Hindus responded immediately, and came out in thousands. Assessing the united power of the Hindus, the Muslims decided to retreat, threatening dire consequences for those who stood against them.

 

On 14th January, at around 6:30 PM, the same group again came to the village and attacked the Bibimata and Radha Govinda Temple (Hindu deities). One villager, Rabin Mandal, who rushed to prevent the attack, received severe injuries to his foot. Another lady got her hand fractured when she tried to stop the attackers from desecrating the temples.

 

Once the group was done with the destruction and Hindus were getting ready for retaliation, a large police contingent along with O.C. – Baruipur and SDPO, South 24 Parganas reached the place to defuse the tension. Local people have identified 3 persons, so far, who were engaged in destruction of the temples. They are Selim, Ekhtar and Mantu Sardar, son of Ati Sardar. It is reported that thousands of Muslims are waiting outside the village and they are ready to attack the Hindus at an appropriate time.
