Grand procession to welcome Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda in ‘Kumbh Mela’ !

From Our Correspondent

Prayagraj (UP) :
Anant Shrivibhushit Jyotisha-peethadhishwar and Dwarka Shardapeethadhishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswati Maharaj was welcomed in ‘Kumbh-mela’ by taking him in grand procession from Rambaug. His entourage, extending to a distance of two kms., underlined his position in ‘Kumbh-Mela’.

Shankaracharya was unhappy about ‘Kumbh-Mela’ administration for reasons like not allocating him proper place, inconvenience caused to Hindus in the biggest fair of Hindus due to the Administrative lapses. Besides, Shankaracharya did not attend two holy baths due to dispute related to ‘Shankar Chatushpath’ procedure and Swami Paripurnananda Saraswati going missing. He came to Prayagraj on 27th January at the request of the Government and since then , he was staying at Sri Mankameshwar Mandir. Today, he was given grand welcome by taking out procession.

What was there in the procession !

1. Elephants, horses, band and chariots raised on four-wheelers.

2. Students of ‘Vedapathashala’ were chanting ‘mantras’.

3. Flowers were showered on him en route to welcome him and ‘aukshan’ was done at few places.

Shankaracharya’s guidance through the medium of procession !

On the chariots participating in the procession, different messages were displayed on boards. Meaning of few messages is given below.

1. Today, brothers are fighting for power; but Bhagavan Sriram gave up throne for the promise given to his parents. Sriram’s brother also did not occupy the throne but kept Sriram’s ‘paduka’ and run the State. A temple of Sriram, whose behavior was so ideal, should be built at the place of his birth.

2. It is a blemish for India to sell beef of a cow who gives us milk for so many years. It is our demand to stop cow-slaughter.

3. Gangajal (water of River Ganga), Geeta and learned Gurus are the three basic Principles of Bharat. Destruction of Bharat is certain even if one of them gets polluted; therefore, let us dedicate ourselves for protection of ‘Guru-Ganga-Geeta’.

Participation of Swami Avimukteshwarananda as a Disciple !

Swami Avimukteshwarananda participated in the entire procession as the Disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswati, taking care of maintaining order of going in a line and other obstacles on the way of procession.

Participation of Sanatan Sanstha in the procession !

Many ‘Aakhaadaas’ participated in the procession; along with them, Sanatan Sanstha was also taken along. Two chariots of Sanatan Sanstha took part in the procession; through the medium of which millions of people came to know about the grand exhibition organized by the Sanstha in ‘Kumbhnagari’.
