Whats more shocking was all the editorials & articles were published after the video of Dr.Bhagvat’s speech was out on internet. The spreading of lies & the stand by secular section of media against the TRUTH will not be forgotten in the Indian history.
Looking at the happenings of last couple of months, one may say that the country is totally confused about its origin and identity while it is eager to take on lead roll on world front. Confusing enough? Yes, it’s ironic but true fact. Look at the reactions of its media.
If we look at the country's media as the mirror of the society, then one may understand what I want to say. Look at the reactions of the media to recent incidents. What we see? Total confusion along with total absence of common sense… Instead of helping people to vent out their anger and help society regain its confidence after the horrific gang-rape case in Delhi, the media was seen running after the cheap TRP ratings. Instead of guiding the society & the rulers of the country, what it has done, were cheap gimmicks of heightening the sensations of the situations. We have witnessed total lack of maturity in covering events, editing news & arranging panel discussions on various issues arising from the situations. What we have witnessed was either total foolishness or a deliberate attempt to fool the people.
Barring some honourable exceptions no one from so called 'main-stream' media attempted to direct the society to wiseness. While the 'candle sect' was busy in cheap gimmicks to use the society's anger, nobody ever noticed that it was the same society which denied help to the victims when they laid in the pool of blood on Delhi's roads. They waited for police to arrive for help. Instead of educating people on the good social manners of helping any accident victims on the spot, the media wasted the golden opportunity to bring up the discussions on how to help & how to stop such incidents. Instead it jumped over a cheap opportunity of creating TRP ratings out of a horrific tragedy.
The Mohan Bhagvat incidence
Non-sensitivity, foolishness, lack of language and communication knowledge or deliberate attempt to spread lies, any way, the reporting by a large section of media was totally harmful to the national interests. This section of the media, which proudly calls itself 'secular' & 'Liberal', is not so much of a liberal & open mind, not even a millimeter open to understand other than its own prejudices, we must say after the Mohan Bhagvat incidence. No one, literary no one, however big the person calls himself, ever tried to verify the speech of Dr.Mohan Bhagvat before reporting it. Even after the RSS quarters and many swayamsevaks brought it to the notice of the concern persons & wrote letters to the editors, the spreading of a lie continued and it is still going on.
Many newspapers gone to the extent of publishing editorials against Dr. Bhagvat, whipping him for the statements he had not done and painting him as a medieval or stone age persona.
Some may think it was a foolish act at the part of media, but many think of the incidence as the deliberate act of spreading lies and rumours. I trust that the second opinion is true. What is shocking is not only this spreading of lies. But what shocked many of us more was the fact that the large number of media persons involved in spreading lies even in this age of information & social media and open internet.
The high handed attitude shown by some sections of the media including print media, who call themselves as the leaders, was totally disgusting and was shame on media. I know two Marathi dailies, which wrote editorials battering Dr. Bhagvat’s imaginary statements even after the original video of his speech in question was made public thru internet & social media. The case of reporting of Dr Bhagvat's speech and the media frenzy created thereafter should be studied to understand who are the real Gobbells of modern India. This should be studied as a case-study to understand the mind-set & working of the so called `Secular’ & `liberal’ media & the self-proclaimed leaders of the media industry.
Some points are as follows...
Daily Sakal in Maharasthra carried an article of Hemant Desai commenting on the so called `anti-women’ & `anti-social’ comments by many leaders. The article deliberately mentioned Dr. Mohan Bhagavat’s non-made statements as medieval anti-women ones. The Article also carried Dr. Bhagvat’s photograph with the title “गप्प राहाण्याचे किती घ्याल?” (“What will you take to keep quiet?”), clearly giving out their intentions to deliberately malign Dr. Bhagvat’s & RSS image. Desai even used bad words for Dr.Bhagvat.
Even the loud protests, letters to the editors & actions by many a swayamsevaks to stop the subscriptions to the paper did not deter the Sharad Pawar controlled, Congress minded news paper from carrying further the spreading of lies. They did not even give any explanations nor published any corrections.
Nagpur based Lokmat carried a similar article by Suresh Dwadashiwar harping on Dr. Bhagvat’s non-made comments & calling names. Lokmat too did not apologized for the mischief.
The so called ‘Largest Marathi daily’ – ‘Lokasatta’ – also published an editorial directly attacking Dr.Bhagvat & RSS `Parivar’ for the same non-made statements of Dr.Bhagvat. Loksatta too, did not apologize.
Another shock was the almost similar words & vocabulary used by these all above mentioned newspapers published by different media houses under different editors, to attack Dr.Bhagvat & malign RSS image.
What’s most surprising, was the total ignorance shown by these so-called leaders of the media. All the above mentioned articles were written & published AFTER the video of Dr. Bhagvat’s speech in question was published on internet & the readers of these news papers alerted the editors thru letters about the video.
What was more shocking how daily Loksatta published its editorial, which tried to spread lies about the RSS parivar, two days AFTER it itself published a letter of one Shri. Kiran Damle calling upon people to visit newsbharati.com & other sites to watch the original video of the speech of Dr. Bhagvat.
Another shock was given by south’s communist minded daily `The Hindu’. An article by one Shri. Shrivastav published by `The Hindu’ recently calls Swami Vivekanand as symbol of `India Musculine tendancies against women’…! The article tried to link the increasing rapes to this `masculine tendency’…!!!!!
These are mere examples of how media is deliberately working to malign the image of RSS & its affiliates. The so called `secular’ & `liberal’ self-proclaimed `leaders’ of the media are now stand exposed thanks to the internet & free information. There are many such `lies & rumours spreading by media’ reported throughout the country. Only they themselves can save themselves as they have almost jumped over the cliff of hatred & foolish attitude & `any level (read abyss) for Congress’ strategy. India’s history will mark & will not forget the stand taken by these media houses against the TRUTH.
