Pune (Maharashtra) : 1st January  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had laid the foundation of independence by defeating Muslims and conquering forts one by one. However, these forts are now rendered into perverse shape due to the presence of drunkards. On 30th and 31st December, the activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti successfully executed the movement, like last year, to protect forts against the inappropriate practices carried out on 31st December by keeping strict vigil on 30th and 31st December this year. The local citizens stated that there was a reduction of 80% in the inappropriate practices this year.

An exhibition on the life of revolutionaries and ‘Horrific truth about Terrorism’ was organised at the foot of the fort by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Educative handbills were also distributed at the venue of the exhibition. Many visited the exhibition and the local citizens appreciated the programme undertaken by Samiti and expressed their willingness to participate in the activities of Samiti. The students from Zilla Parishad School(Gunjavani) also visited the exhibition. Mr. Ramesh Purohit, a school teacher said that the activity of Samiti is very inspiring.
