Jago hindu jago(wake up Hindus from your sleep )

this is the time for Hindu's to wake up from their ignorance of our culture, we should remember that if  we leave our culture, from very point the problems starts as we are only the culture and if we leave it, it means we are living ourselves...... at bad time
there is quote:-
"at bad times even our shadow leaves us"
(TRY TO UNDERSTAND IT..............)
if we have any problem in our culture we are persons who have to do something to correct it, rather thinking of others to do it........
and we should know that for our good we have to do the thing and there will no one even of helping you at moment of time.....
but always try..........
if you think no one is there to listen, so make them listen or wait for them to listen....... and remember that there will be some people who is listening to you but you are the one who is unable to see him.........
let's give one example i started my blog at first i used to think no one will see my blog(www.hindu4u.blogspot.in) but as time passed i gave the blog what i can, and now i am proud that my views of my blog are good, so never think you can't do the thing............ what you want.......
and sorry for a so long comment........ and thanks for reading it...........

China to construct three more dams on Brahmaputra river

Beijing (China) :
China has approved construction of three more dams on Brahmaputra river in Tibet in addition to the one being built, and much to the disquiet of India, it has not been informed about the plans so far.

A document approved by the Chinese cabinet recently mentioned three dams to be built at Dagu, Jiacha and Jiexu on Brahmaputra, Indian officials in Beijing said.

The document listing projects to be completed in China's 12th five year plan made a passing reference to the three dams without any details, they said.

India has not been informed about the move so far, they said in Beijing.

Asked about the plans to build the dams, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hong Lei told a media briefing in Beijing that "China has always taken a responsible attitude towards the development of cross border rivers".

"Any new project has to go through scientific planning and study with consideration of the interests of lower and upper stream countries", he said.

Brahmaputra river is known as Yarlung Zangbo in China.

Asked whether plans to build the dams have been approved and whether India and Bangladesh, which were lower riparian countries of the river, have been informed, Hong said he needs to get specific information.

Beijing's decision comes at a time when India-China relations have improved considerably in all areas of cooperation and the two countries held a lengthy round of the bilateral exchanges during National Security Advisor, Shivshankar Menon's visit in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Dai Bingguo.

Sharing of cross border river waters has figured in the discussions but apparently China has not informed India of its plans to build the dams.

In his interactions with media after the talks, Mr Menon has spoken about the two sides discussing water flows and China's assurance that nothing that it is doing will affect the flows.

The two again met on the sidelines of BRICS Security officials meet this month in New Delhi.

The new projects were reportedly approved by China at the State Council or Cabinet meeting on January 23.

China has already been building a 510 MW dam at Zangmu and one of the three dams is reportedly bigger than the one under construction.

China has been arguing that its dams have standard designs, therefore they would not be affecting the flow of the water.

India has been expressing its concerns on this issue during the bilateral meetings.

It figured during the then External Affairs Minister, S M Krishna's visit in last March.

About India's concerns about Zangmu dam, Hong said at that time that the dam was not big enough to affect much of the flow to the lower riparian regions and China has not developed new hydro projects on the river.

India, China back to sparring over Arunachal and Aksai Chin

New Delhi :
India and China are back to sparring over territorial claims involving Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin.

It all started with the Chinese government showing Arunachal and entire Aksai Chin as part of its territory in maps of the country on their new e-passports.

Unhappy at this, the Indian embassy in Beijing is said to be issuing visas to Chinese nationals with a map of India showing Arunachal and Aksai Chin as its territories.

After the water marks in the new Chinese e-passports showed Arunachal and Aksai Chin as part of China, the Indian mission started issuing visas with Indian maps including these places as part of its territory.

China had triggered a diplomatic row by issuing stapled visas to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, terming it as a "disputed territory" and denied visas to those hailing from Arunachal Pradesh.

Peeved over this action, India lodged a strong protest with China which subsequently reverted to issuing normal visas to residents of J-K but without officially admitting that they were doing so.

China's claim to Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, which shares a 1,030-km unfenced border with it, is not new.

In 1962, China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, but in 1993 and 1996 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control to maintain peace and tranquility.

Significantly, these developments occur even as a high- level team of Chinese diplomats, for the first time, visited Sikkim in connection with consular issues, which was seen as reconfirmation of Beijing's stance of accepting the state as part of India.

The development comes to light days after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao on the sidelines of the Asean summit in Cambodia where the two leaders discussed ways to move forward on the vexed boundary issue.

National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon is expected to visit Beijing soon for the next round of boundary talks at the level of Special Representatives with his Chinese counterpart Dai Bingguo.

Protection of Dharma and Hindu unity through the medium of internet

Index

1. Preface

1A. Importance of the new medium - Internet

We all have gathered here today to commence in the true sense the task of establishing the Hindu Nation. Utmost important for this noble task is Dharmakranti, that is, Religious Revolution. In this very Holy land of Bharat, about 400 years ago, a similar Dharmakranti was brought about by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the blessings of Goddess Bhawani Mata and Saints such as Rashtraguru Samarth Ramdas Swami and Saint Tukaram Maharaj.
We have already seen the importance of Brahmatej and Kshatratej in establishing the Hindu Nation. To awaken the Hindu community which is in deep slumber, it is imperative to reach their doorstep, impart them Dharmashikshan (Education on Dharma) and provide the latest information on the onslaughts on Dharma and Nation. So far, we had the media like radio, newspapers and television at hand to assist us. A new powerful addition to this list is the internet.

1A 1. Low-cost medium

Enormous manpower and funds are required to operate a newspaper or a television channel. When compared with these mediums, it is easier to unite Hindus through the medium of internet, since it is very cheap compared with the other two mediums. Since it is also simple to use internet through mobiles, there is rapid rise in the number of mobile users. Today’s youth is in the forefront in this regard.

1B. Internet lent a helping hand in the people’s revolution in Arab countries

A obvious example of the importance of internet is the people’s revolution that took place in the Arab countries of Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt in the last year. Social networking websites such as ‘Facebook’, ‘Twitter’, ‘YouTube’ etc. and ‘blogs’ of citizens keen for the revolution played a major role in making the revolution successful.
Their citizens used various mediums on the internet and successfully planned to assemble at various venues, took action as planned and attained success. Apart from this, the citizens in these countries effectively used mediums such as ‘Twitter’ and ‘Facebook’ available on mobiles during the adverse times. They tried to come out of the adverse situations in a apt manner. We will also be noting some examples of this kind in Bharat.

1C. What are the various mediums of prasar through the internet ?

Let us now identify the powerful mediums on the internet that are going to be useful for Hindu unity and Dharmakranti. These mediums are personal websites, ‘blogs’ , social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter and various E-mail groups. Let us obtain detailed information on these.

2. Website of a Hindu organisation

2A. Website is the mouthpiece of an organisation on the internet

In today’s era of internet, a website is inevitable and it is the need of the hour. It is a lawful platform to proclaim our mission, philosophy and policies. Today, when the electronic and print (newspapers, magazines and periodicals) media not only in Bharat but also overseas are spitting venom against Hindus, it has become important for the Hindu organisations to have their own websites.

2B. As a Hindu website, which subjects should be given importance ?

2B 1. Expose matters related to protecting Dharma, for example, mass awakening on the onslaughts on Hindus

Instead of raising issues concerning Hindus, most media houses today dish out news that would only demoralise Hindus continuously. Hence, it is expected that Hindu websites continuously focus on the issues of Hindus. Today, there are many burning issues facing the Hindus such as ‘Love Jihad’, cow slaughter, riots, anti-Hindu laws like ‘Communal and Targeted Violence Bill’ etc., conversions etc.
To create awakening among the Hindus in the society, it is imperative to place all these issues and their severity before the Hindus. Hindus have no saviour. Hence, Hindu websites should give priority to all such issues and suggest solutions on them.

2B 2. Dharmashikshan (Education on Dharma)

Today, the followers of other sects are taught about their sect through their places of worship; but Hindus do not get such education anywhere. Through our websites, we can publish information on our festivals, religious festivals, all types of religious action recommended by Dharma, Hindu scriptures etc. and place before the entire world the uniqueness of Hindu Dharma.

2B 3. Unity of Hindus and making them pro-active

In today’s times, mere awakening of Hindus will not suffice. It is necessary to unite them and motivate them to become active to serve the Nation and Dharma. Let us look at this aspect in detail. (The 8th and 9th point from the text)

2C. Synopsis of activities of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s (HJS’) website in the above field

Information on protecting Dharma and Dharmashikshan on HJS’ websites has been receiving tremendous response from Hindus. Let us see some statistics in this regard.
1. ‘News’ section that presents Hindus’ issues : Over 1 crore 28 lakh readers
2. Articles on Hindu scriptures : Over 21 lakh readers
3. Videos of HJS on ‘YouTube’ : They were viewed over 15 lakh 69 thousand times and the permanent members are 1 thousand 491.
4. Articles on the glorious history of Hindus : Over 4 lakh readers
5. Online signature campaigns associated with the Nation and Dharma : Over 2 lakh 50 thousand signatures
6. News / campaigns on denigration of Deities and national figures : Over 600 articles published so far
7. Success achieved in preventing denigration : Success in over 200 incidents
So far, over 30 thousand readers have commented and over 3 thousand readers have expressed their willingness to join HJS’ mission.

2D. Examples of websites of other Hindu organisations engaged in protecting Dharma

The following are examples of some websites (like HJS’ website) which are trying to awaken and unite Hindus. (Examples have been taken as per information available with us.)
1. www.sriramsena.org
2. www.haindavakeralam.com
3. www.chakranews.com
4. www.forumforhinduawakening.org
5. www.agniveer.com

3. Use of ‘blog’ for Hindu unity

3A. Importance of ‘blog’

Presently, though it is easy to start a website and operate it, it also has some expense. Again, many technical aspects are to be looked into and it requires some manpower. Hence, sometimes it becomes difficult for one individual or one organisation to start and operate a website. For such individuals or organisations, ‘blog’ is a good alternative.

3B. How to start a ‘blog’

We can create our ‘blog’ on various websites on the internet. Following websites are well-known for the purpose.
1. www.blogspot.in
2. www.wordpress.com
3. www.sulekha.com
We can start our ‘blog’ on these websites without any expense. These websites also provide information on how to present our ‘blog’ in an attractive manner.

3C. Examples of Hindu ‘blogs’

Many amongst us are in contact with the Hindus all over the world through ‘blogs’. Let us see some of the best and famous ‘blogs’.
1. hindusamhati.blogspot.in : From this ‘blog’ operated by Mr. Tapan Ghosh (We should make sure if he is present and then mention his name), we can get complete information on the sordid state of the Hindus in West Bengal. Due to this blog, thousands of Hindus from West Bengal have been associated with the Hindu organisation ‘Hindu Samhati’. These Hindus united at many places and succeeded in stopping atrocities on them.
2. hinduexistence.wordpress.com : We can regularly get the latest information on the onslaughts on Hindus and the success Hindus have achieved due to their unity and valour from this ‘blog’ operated by Mr. Upanand Brahmachari. (We should make sure of his presence and then mention his name.)
3. Blogs that give news on Hindus :
1. asansolnews.wordpress.com
2. vivekjyoti.blogspot.in
3. rajeev2004.blogspot.in

4. Use of social networking websites for uniting Hindus

4A. Introduction to social networking websites

Today, people throughout the world are using various popular social networking websites such as ‘Facebook’, ‘Twitter’, ‘Google Plus’ etc. widely. Several crore Hindus the world over have been using these social networking websites. It has become inevitable to use these sites for uniting Hindus and for protecting Hindu Dharma.

4B. Examples of influence of social networking websites on the people

4B 1. We have earlier seen the success of people’s revolution in Arab countries. Let us now take an example from Bharat.
4B 2. Successful Shriramnavami rally at Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh : In March 2012, Mr. Thakur Raja Singh who organised a  grand procession of Shriramnavami at Bhagyanagar was arrested by the Police and the procession was banned. At that time, many devout Hindus and Hindu organisations such as Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena unitedly resolved to make the procession a great success. To appeal to the Hindus on this, they used the social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter etc. widely. It was because of this, that a few days before Shriramnavami Mr. Thakur Raja Singh was released by the Police, and bowing to the increasing strength of the Hindus, the Police stopped bringing obstacles in the rally.
The combined result of these efforts was that over one and half lakh to 2 lakh Hindus came together at Bhagyanagar, crushed the opposition of the anti-Hindus and made Shriramnavami rally a great success. A significant aspect of this rally was that not a single untoward incident took place during the rally.

5. Most popular social networking websites

5A. Facebook

5A 1. Introduction to Facebook

This is the most popular social networking website in the world and it has over 5 crore members in Bharat.

5A 2. How can we use Facebook ?

We can accept a maximum 5000 people as friends from a profile on Facebook and can communicate with them. Through Facebook, we can create a group of like-minded people in each city, maintain contact with each other and thus carry on the activities of Hindu organisation. There is no limit to the number of groups. (With the help of our profile we can either start our own group or become a member of another group.) Similarly, we can also use the alternative facility of ‘Events’ and invite like-minded Hindus for a programme or a meeting.
The Shriramnavami Samiti had placed the map of the procession path on the Home page of Facebook and seeing the page, many Hindus joined the procession.

5B. Twitter

5B 1. Introduction to Twitter

There are over 1 crore members of Twitter in Bharat. Twitter has become an easy and important medium of relaying news or a message to millions of people.

5B 2. Example of success achieved through Twitter

In February 2012, a fanatic Muslim Mr. Anjem Choudhary threatened to launch Shariat law in Bharat through the website www.shariah4hind.com. To oppose the move, the Chief of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga (who is present here today. – Ensure his presence and then mention this) sought the assistance of Dr. Subramanian Swami through Twitter and filed a suit in the Delhi High Court. The Court acted swiftly and forced the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to ban the website www.shariah4hind.com in Bharat through its order. Similarly the Court also ordered the Police to issue a warrant for the arrest of Choudhary and his accomplices. The rally planned by Mr. Choudhary on 3rd March 2012 was also banned.
We can also seek assistance of Hindus from various fields and various parts of the country to solve various issues in this manner. We can also bring together millions of Hindus through Twitter.

5C. Other social networking websites

Other social networking websites are Orkut and Google Plus. However, they are not as popular as Facebook and Twitter. Both these websites belong to Google only. Google Plus is a new website being used widely by the people. In Google Plus, we can unite maximum number of reliable Hindu friends in a group. By using this website, we can send our messages to all these friends at the same time.

6.  Various E-mail groups

6A. Introduction to E-mail groups

Today, many like-minded people are using the E-mail group facility to send E-mails together. Through the medium of E-mail groups, we can send only one E-mail to lakhs of people at a time. Presently, Yahoo groups and Google groups are being used widely.

6B. Importance of E-mail groups

In view of the increasing proportion of use of internet among the Hindus, E-mail groups, along with social networking websites can also play an important role in awakening, uniting and activating Hindus.

7. Projector

Projector is also an effective medium today. Now-a-days, various types of projectors are available and there are various facilities in them depending on their cost. Hindu activists can find it easy to show to the people any video, website or other computerized information with the help of a projector. Now-a-days, it is very easy to install a projector and wind it up after the programme is over. In this Convention, we are using a projector often to present some topic. Projector is a useful medium to explain a subject.

8. How to help other Hindu organisations for educating the Hindus widely ?

We can reach a maximum of 50 to 100 people by going door to door and explaining our topic in detail. Whereas, here we can send our messages to millions of people by just a click of the mouse. The time thus saved can be utilised for other matters associated with unity of the Hindus and protecting Dharma.

8A. Placing addresses of other organisations by every organisation on its website, ‘blog’ or social networking website

Every organisation which is active for the cause of Dharma belongs to us. If our organisation is not active in a particular region, we can give the addresses of other like-minded organisations active in that region on our website. That organisation will thus be associated with one of our organisations and we can achieve unity of Hindus, not only in a particular region, but all over the country.

8B. Publication of news on protecting Dharma, onslaughts on Hindus, denigration of Deities and national figures, agitations etc.

We can spread news about the onslaughts on Hindus, denigration of Deities and national figures etc. throughout the world in a moment. If the information is placed on our website or a ‘blog’, Hindus the world over can get complete information about developments that take place against the Hindus. Thereafter, further course of action can be decided and messages can be sent to each other accordingly. News on various Hindu websites and  ‘blogs’ are posted on the website of HJS.

8C. Publishing activities of organisations active in the interest of Hindus

‘Forum for Hindu Awakening’ is performing the task of uniting Hindus overseas. Dharma Sabhas were organised by this organisation in USA, Canada, Australia etc. When the information about the Sabha was posted on HJS’ website, many Hindus were able to attend the Sabhas.

8D. Sending E-mails

We can collect E-mail addresses of the devout Hindus in our field, activists of organisations and their contacts and send them E-mails with information of our local activities, happenings and Dharmashikshan.

8E. Assistance from HJS

Hundreds of articles about the uniqueness of Hindu Dharma, Dharmashikshan and the glorious history of Hindus have been published, both in English and Hindi, on HJS’ website. Hundreds of articles will be shortly available in various languages. All these articles can be made available to all organisations for placing them on their websites or ‘blogs’.

9. Who can do actual Dharma prasar through the internet and how ?

9A. How can all Hindus, from students taking school education to devout senior citizens, participate in this ?

Since the internet is easily available, Hindu students, Hindu housewives and senior citizens who have pride in Dharma can participate in the task of Dharma prasar and protecting Dharma through the medium of E-mail and social networking websites like Facebook.

9B. How can Hindu activists perform the activities of protecting Dharma and uniting Hindus ?

If activists face adverse circumstances, they can contact each other instantly through this medium and find ways to solve their problems. Again, Hindu activists will find it easy to take review of their activities through the medium of E-mail, online spreadsheets etc. and it will streamline the mission for Dharma and simplify activities.
Activists residing in faraway places can plan any activity with the help of E-mail or Facebook and act accordingly. Through this medium, they can plan from the confines of their homes without coming together physically.

9C. How can activists living in far off villages participate ?

Hindus living alone in far off villages, who have enthusiasm to do something for Dharma can use all the above mentioned mediums and lend their helping hand in the mission of protecting Dharma and uniting Hindus. They can also invite organisations active in the close by region to their residence or office through the internet and arrange a programme associated with Hindu Dharma. If an organisation is unable to visit, Hindus can themselves use the matter available on the media of the Hindu organisations in their region, and start uniting local Hindus. (For example, studying the matter of Dharmashikshan available on HJS’ website and taking a class of Dharmashikshan for local Hindus etc.)
From ongoing discussion you must have realised that we must use the new medium of internet (which is very effective) for the purpose of protecting Dharma and uniting Hindus. As per the quote, ‘सङ्घे शक्तिः कलौ युगे ।’ meaning ‘in Kaliyug, true power lies in unity’, it is very important that for the establishing the Hindu Nation, all devout Hindus should remain united. Irrespective of which corner of the world we are in, we can always remain united through the medium of internet and can certainly write a new chapter in the progress of establishing the Hindu nation.

49 Million Hindus Missing From Bangladesh Census

Explosive Book by SUNY Professor Gives New Light to the Indian Partition Story !!!

Empire's Last Casualty : Indian Subcontinent's Vanishing Hindu and Other Minorities

A study of effects of religious communalism on a pluralistic, tolerant, multi-religious society. It focuses on the loss of indigenous, Hindu population from die land of their ancestors; and on changes brought about since a multi-religious progressive region of Colonial British India was partitioned in 1947, and its effects on Hindu and nun-Muslim (Buddhist and Christian) minorities, on pluralism and on indigenous cultures.

After Britain's Muslim-Hindu partition of Bengal Province Past Bengal became Muslim-majority East Pakistan, a part of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, unleashing regular, merciless anti-Hindu pogroms by intolerant Islamists. West Bengal remained in India, with Muslim minority and ever-growing massive Bengali Hindu refugee who turned towards left extremism.

Following a 1971 war of independence against West Pakistan, Bangladesh gained independence, creating the second largest Muslim-majority nation. That war was concurrently anti-Hindu anti-Bengali genocide by Islamic Republic's army and its Bengali and Urdu speaking Islamist allies.

The book documents the decade-wise "missing" Hindus from Bangladesh Census: over 49 million; larger than 163 of 189 nations listed in World Bank's April 2003 World Development indicators database-and over 3.1 million (larger than 75 of 189 nations) Hindus lost their lives through the process of Islamization.

Documenting three million-plus lost lives have been painful and difficult; especially when Hindus cremate their dead. Additionally rivers of the world's largest delta washed away signs of mass murder leaving no clue. All attempts have been made to justify the data presented in the book, hardly-known to the world and rarely discussed in Bengal itself.

'Hindu women' gang raped in Bangladesh during 2001 elections

Will Indian Govt. take this issue with Bangladesh Govt., so that accused should get highest possible punishment ? Will all Human Rights organisations in India, who are always ready to fight for 'justice to minorities in India' (who are actually appeased by everyone in India), will ask Indian Govt. to take this issue strongly with Bangaldesh ?

Dhaka (Bangladesh): A judicial commission has concluded that over 200 Hindu women were raped following the 2001 parliamentary election, forcing many terrorized families to flee the country.

The acts were allegedly committed by cadres of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami who won the 2001 polls, the report said, citing the involvement of many top leaders and lawmakers of the alliance that is now in the opposition.

While the commission referred to the victims as "minority women", media reports of that period had identified them as Hindus.

With Begum Khaleda Zia as the prime minister, the BNP-Jamaat alliance ruled Bangladesh during 2001-06.

The violence went on for 15 months and "the barbarous act was intended to force them to leave the country. They were, in the eyes of the culprits, enemies as they voted for the Awami League", The Daily Star said on Tuesday, quoting commission sources.

The commission submitted the report to home minister Sahara Khatun. It lists 3,625 incidents of major crimes, including killing, rape, arson and looting.

Media reports at that time had detailed the plight of hundreds of Hindu families crossing over to India, forcing the Indian government to express concern.

Bangladeshi poet Daud Hyder, who visited the camps in India where these families were lodged and wrote about it, was later charged with sedition and imprisoned.

The wave of violence was the subject of "Lajja" by novelist Taslima Nasreen, who angered the Islamists at home and was had to quit Bangladesh. She still remains exiled.

Many victims and their family members interviewed by the probe panel narrated harrowing experiences, but said they did not lodge police reports or undergo forensic tests for fear of inviting social stigma, the report says.

Many victims and their family members across the country contacted the commission when it was conducting the probe.

According to the panel, it would be "tough or, to some extent, impossible" to continue the probe into the rape allegations "as the victims themselves are unwilling to do the legal battle".

The probe panel found that most of the gang rapes occurred in the country's southern part - Bhola, Barisal, Agoiljhara and Gaurnadi.

The accused were acquitted for lack of witnesses. In some cases, police gave final reports while the names of the accused were dropped in over 500 cases out of the 3,625 major incidents.

With the passing of a decade, some of the accused utilised "good connection with ruling Awami League men", which forced the police to drop many cases, the media report said.

The panel has named several BNP and Jamaat leaders for their involvement in the post-poll violence.

Mr. Suresh Chavhanake, Editor and Chairman, Sudarshan News

Ramanathi, Ponda (Goa) :
“A number of problems of Hindus are being brought to the notice from ‘Sudarshan Channel’. More and more Hindus should participate in the program ‘Bindhas Bol’. An increased interaction between Hindu organisations and ‘Sudarshan Channel’ will impart momentum to the mission of Hindutva. ‘Sudarshan Channel’ is dedicated only to Hindus and all the devout Hindus can take our help without any hesitation,” appealed Mr. Suresh Chavanke, Editor of ‘Sudarshan News’.

Mr. Chavanke could not participate in this Convention due to some unavoidable reason. Therefore, he interacted with the devout Hindus attending the Convention on telephone. Prior to that, a Video CD depicting the work done for Hindu Dharma through the medium of ‘Sudarshan News’ was screened. When the devout Hindus asked him some questions, he said that his channel conducts regular Cow-Protection campaign. The channel has also handled the issue of Love Jihad three times so far. The rulers and politicians are being awakened through presentation of various problems.

Ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Bangladesh

By Richard L Benkin
Hindu population has dwindled in Bangladesh primarily due to Government-tolerated murder, rape, forced conversion, land grabs, etc. Learn more about this from Benkin’s book, writes BB Kumar

Partition in August 1947 was preceded, as well as followed, by unprecedented riots in the regions covering today’s Pakistan and Bangladesh, and as a reaction in other parts of India. Almost a million people were butchered; many millions crossed the newly created international boundary and became refugees. As a result, there was sharp decline in the Hindu population of West Pakistan — from 19.687 per cent in 1941 to 1.531 per cent in 1951 (Religious Demography of India, JK Bajaj and others). After Partition, as per Richard L Benkin’s latest book, A Quiet Case of Ethnic Cleansing: The Murder of Bangladesh’s Hindus, Hindus were a third of East Pakistan’s population; they remained less than a fifth in 1971 when East Pakistan became Bangladesh; and, today there are fewer than eight per cent Hindus in that country. Thus, says Benkin, the population of Hindus continuously dwindled, as they continued to face “Government-tolerated murder, rape, abduction, forced conversion, temple attacks, land grabs, and more.

It’s not that what happened in Pakistan and Bangladesh was not predicted earlier. Shaukat Hayat Khan, the then Prime Minister of undivided Punjab, foresaw that Hindus might not be allowed to stay in Pakistan. Savitri Devi — a Greek convert to Hinduism — in her book, A Warning to the Hindus, wrote about a decade earlier than Partition about the “riots worse than any of those India has seen in the past”. She predicted: “It is Hindus as a nation who are in danger of extinction, at least in certain parts of India”.

Benkin aptly details the scenario of millions killed, millions at risk, and billions silent. He goes to the roots of ethnic cleansing, describes how it is taking place, and how the Government colludes with fanatics to get the minorities eliminated. Two appendices list incidents of tolerated attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus.

The book calls for action to end this silent but decisive ethnic cleansing. It also exposes the hypocrisy of the powers that be: Whereas almost a fourth of the population of Bangladesh was thrown out, the world remained silent. The United Nations and the international community were nowhere to be seen.

Contrary to the popular perception that the condition of Hindus under the ‘secular’ Awami League Government would improve, the situation has remained practically the same. Here, it needs to be mentioned that Pakistan was once thought to be a rare phenomenon when it declared its Hindu minority enemy and had legal provision for vesting their property (Enemy Property Act). Free Bangladesh, rather than repelling the same, rechristened it as ‘Vested Property Act’ (VPA); it did not return the confiscated property to the minorities.
Benkin describes in detail vast appropriation of Hindu-owned land under the VPA, thus forcing the minorities to migrate from Bangladesh. Another shocking fact is that Hindu refugees, who came to India during the Bangladesh liberation war, found their lands and properties occupied by Muslims when they returned back to their homes in free Bangladesh.

Benkin systematically analyses various other factors, apart from VAP, responsible for the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Bangladesh, such as the increased radicalisation of the Bangladeshi polity, complicity of the corrupt Government officials and rampant failure of the state to defend the victims. The Awami League Government has declined to repeal the eighth amendment of the Constitution, recognising Islam as the official state religion; radical parties, such as Jamaat-e-Islami, are allowed to communalise the polity.

India has miserable failed to safeguard the interests of Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan. After all, this was the basis of the Nehru-Liaquat Pact and the Indira-Mujib Treaty. This is certainly a moral lapse on the part of the Government of India.

Benkin has not sacrificed hard facts for political correctness. He details the converging interests of the fanatics and the Maoists in their endeavour to break India. However, the book could have been more interesting had it dealt with fanatic negationism, creation of victimhood literature, competitive vote-bank politics and, of course, Hindus’ failure to understand Islam and its true nature. After all, one finds it difficult to differentiate between the treatment meted out to Bangladeshi Hindus and what Prophet Mohammed himself did to Beni Kainuka, Beni Koreiza and others.

VHP, Bajrang Dal protest against attacks on Hindus in J&K

New Delhi : Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal on Friday held a protest in the national Capital against attacks on Hindus in Jammu & Kashmir.

They also burnt effigy of Governor NN Vohra. VHP and Bajrang Dal said that the protest was held against recent attacks on Hindus in Rajauri, booking them in false cases. They also raised questions on the manner in which the time duration of the Amarnath Yatra has been cut down. VHP alleged that the J&K Governor and its State Chief Minister are taking decisions on the pressure of anti national elements. They further alleged that terror groups are terrorising Hindus living in the border districts of the state.

A Press notification said that member central advisory board of VHP BL Sharma Prem while addressing the protesters asked whether Hindus have no right to practice their religion in the state. “Why the religious precession was attacked in Rajauri by the anti national elements in front of the administration?,” he said. He added that instead of detaining attackers police arrested hindus.  Prem demanded immediate release of those detained in false cases, withdrawal of false FIRs lodged and restoration of Amarnath yarta duration atleast for two months.

VHP state Media chief Vinod Bansal said that the J & K state machinery kept mum on any action against anti nationals. He said, “Today we burn effigy of the state Governor to protest against his repeated interference in Hindus religious affairs by curtailing Amaranath Yatra duration and not protecting life and property of Hindus living in border areas.”

Bansal warned that if the governor does not turn up, they may extend this protest to the whole country.

‘Of course the Indian media is irresponsible and rotten’‘Of course the Indian media is irresponsible and rotten’

Were the matter not so serious and so important to the future of Indian democracy, I would still be laughing my guts out. Yes, I am talking about the firestorm triggered by the strong criticism of the Indian media by the new chairman of the Press Council of India Justice Markandey Katju.
And the equally ill concealed anger and contempt with which the Shankaracharyas, Ayatollahs and Cardinals of the Indian media have responded to the criticism. Before I bore you further with grimy and unsavoury details of the whole mess, let me point out one truly startling aspect that seems to have escaped the eagle eyes of media pundits.
One of the key criticisms made by Justice Katju is that the Indian media often covers events in an irresponsible, and even dangerous way. Obviously our Gods and Goddesses of news and views have not taken kindly to that.
So the Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) that represents the scores of TV news channels has slammed Justice Katju by issuing a statement that has been dutifully carried out by all media outlets. But there is a hidden gem in that diatribe that actually got me laughing.
Let me quote the August BEA: "The sane & balanced(italics mine) coverage of two recent incidents – the Ayodhya judgment and Gopalpur riots – belies the assertion of the PCI chairman."
Just look at the manner in which the statement reflects the mentality of a spoilt brat who now claims to be less of a spoilt brat. What exactly does the BEA mean when it says that the coverage of just two incidents – Ayodhya and Gopalpur riots – was sane and balanced?
Isn’t it admitting in a perverse way that the media coverage of many past events has been insane and imbalanced? Anyone with common sense knows how true the latter is!
Please allow me to bore you to death with more quotes that reveal as much about the authoritarian mindset of Justice Katju as they do about the intolerant mindset of the Indian media.
The first is from the BEA and the second priceless gem is from another august body called the Editor’s Guild. “Any criticism made in a holier-than-thou fervour defeats the very purpose it is sought to be made for".
Now just pause and think for a moment. How would you describe the tone, tenor and approach of virtually all television anchors of India when they are holding forth on the 2G scam, the Radia tapes, the so called Chinese military threat to India or the so called destruction of Indian secularism because an essay on the Ramayana by A.K Ramanujan was taken off the syllabus by Delhi University?

Does the term holier than thou come to mind?

Here goes the second quote: "The Editors' Guild of India deplores the ill-considered, sweeping & uninformed comments (italics mine) on the media and on media professionals by the new chairman of the Press Council of India, Justice Markandey Katju.”
Now please turn the clock back just a wee bit and recall the hysteria surrounding the Anna Hazare fast in August, 2011 or its precursor in April, 2011.
Was the manner in which every single politician of India was branded a corrupt thief not ill considered, sweeping and uninformed? And I must come back to that old chestnut 'holier-than-thou'.
Do you remember the manner in which most in the media virtually formed a lynch mob against you if you had the temerity to suggest that many statements being made by some members of Team Anna were ill considered, sweeping and uninformed?
Let me provide you with another very recent and shining example of how an ill considered, sweeping and uninformed Indian media misleads readers and viewers either because of ignorance, plain stupidity or sheer laziness.
Now that the dictator of Libya Muammar Gaddafi is gone (Saddam has long gone), the Western powers ably supported by the western media now have Iran in the cross hairs.
In a sickening enactment of déjà vu, the western media is going to town about how Iran is now on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons and how the West must take pre-emptive measures before mankind is destroyed by the Iranian Ayatollahs.
What does the Indian media do? It blindly repeats what the western media is saying. Are the well read, thoughtful and historically well briefed leaders of Indian media not aware that this is just a repeat of the lies unleashed by the USA in the run up to the invasion of Iraq?
Today, consumers of media have many other sources of information thanks to the internet. And can you blame them for not having an iota of respect for the manner in which this free, independent and fearless media blindly apes its cousins of the West?
Pardon me for saying this, but I always thought that the whole myth about media being objective, fair and unbiased was a bunch of horseshit. Media has always been ideological. If you subscribe to one ideology, you will only see the shameless manner in which the painter M.F Hussain was hounded out of India into exile by zealots.
If you subscribe to another ideology, you will only see the shameless manner in which author and activist Taslima Nasreen was hounded out of exile in India by zealots. Come to think of it, readers and viewers are not dumb morons.
They will appreciate it if you have the intellectual honesty to openly wear your ideological leanings on your sleeves. But please don’t be holier than thou even as you persist in being ill considered, sweeping and uninformed.
That too, when thanks to the internet, Indian consumers of media are acutely aware of how many TV channels and newspapers actually take money from politicians to write favourable stories about them (they have always done it in the case of business magnates and tycoons who have the option of throwing product and corporate ads your way).
The Indian media might collectively and shamelessly behave like a cartel and try damn hard, but the stench of paid news is not going to go away in a hurry. And readers and viewers are acutely aware of the actual number of concrete steps the Indian media has taken to minimize – forget about eliminating – the scourge of paid news.
Why blame only Justice Katju when Indians with common sense nowadays actually smirk derisively while discussing Indian media? Obviously, you will get criticism, sneers, sniggers and worse if you pontificate sanctimoniously about political corruption and look the other way when it comes to media corruption.
And pray, how was Justice Katju wrong when he criticized the media for focusing more on the trivial rather than the important. Look at how the Indian media covered the news that Swami Agnivesh will join the Big Boss reality show! And look at how television channel editors – stung perhaps by Justice Katju – have announced some self imposed guidelines on how to cover the birth of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s baby!
It is truly laughable. It is easy to criticize only Hindi and regional language channels for peddling mumbo jumbo and worse. But really, everyone does it. And what is the reason trotted out for this saturation in coverage of the trivial and the absurd at the cost of the important?
Well, the market demands it, and readers and viewers prefer such stories over stories on starvation deaths. The logical question to ask is why not the whole hog go and show pornography since most viewers would prefer it over Swami Agnivesh in Big Boss?
You can't claim on the one hand all the privileges and perks of being the fourth pillar of Indian democracy and then trot out the excuse that you have to listen to market forces and cater to what people want. Many people want free booze and cash during elections. So what’s wrong if politicians provide that? After all, they too are listening to market forces!
All this would have mattered less but for the most glaring, spectacular and persistent failure of the Indian media: its absolute inability to read the mind of an electorate before elections.
I remember as a young journalist back in the 1980s when some pro Congress newspapers gave the party a handsome majority in the assembly elections of Haryana before polling. They even trotted out a fancy analysis by so called market research agencies to bolster their claims. The fact is: the Congress was decimated. Since then, the inability of Indian media to get the pulse of people during elections has become even more embarrassing.
Look at how the Indian media kept insisting that it was a tough battle between the DMK and the AIADMK during the recently held assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The DMK was decimated. I could go on and on with similar examples.
The question to ask is: how do you always get it wrong during elections even when the writing on the wall is clear? Quite naturally, even a child would know that something is seriously wrong, perhaps even rotten.
Surely, no sensible person would agree with the demand made by Justice Katju that he be allowed to become an arbitrary judge, jury and executioner (incidentally, hasn’t the same media been cheering Anna Hazare when he demands that he be made the judge, jury & executioner?).
But come on. Let’s get off the high horse. Like everything else in India, there is a systemic rot in the Indian media. Hiding behind the rhetoric of press freedom while doing all you can to make a mockery of it is surely not the way to go about it.

Hindu Rashtra is the only remedy on Bangladeshi Infiltrators ! – Upananda Brahmachari

Shri. Upananda Brahmachari
Shri. Upananda Brahmachari

Ramnathi, Ponda (Goa) :
Presently the situation is so bad that even the Border Security Force cannot control the Bangladeshi infiltrators. The number of Bangladeshi infiltrators is on the rise in Assam and surrounding states with the backing of local political parties. Some Hindu organisations was expected take effective measures against this infiltration as a Hindu organisation; but it failed. Now Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has begun the mission of establishing Hindu Nation by uniting all minor Hindu organisations throughout the Nation. If a strong Hindu unity develops through this Convention, then Bangladeshi infiltrators will get reduced. Shri. Upananda Brahmachari from Bengal stated this while speaking on the subject ‘Infiltration of Bangladeshi Muslims and anti-National activities of Maoists’.

He  further added,

  1. Presently the Bangladeshi infiltrators form 2% of Bharatiya population.
  2. Four thousand of Rohingya Muslims from Manaymar are currently staying in Delhi.
  3. According to the Intelligence reports, 39% of the infiltrators stay in Bengal, 25% in Assam and North Eastern regions, 22% in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi while rest of them are scattered in all other states.
  4. Now these Bangladeshi people are collectively demanding Bharatiya citizenship at Kolkata.
  5. A Muslim MP in Rajyasabha demanded rehabilitation of such infiltrators - migrants as Muslims think Bharat a Dharmashala.
  6. The menace of Bangladeshi infiltration is assuming a dreadful form. A conspiracy to divide Bharat lies underneath it.
  7. Pakistan intelligence agency ISI and Bangladesh intelligence DGFI Masterminds are behind increasing influx from Bangladesh and outside.
  8. Maoists, Islamists and Christian Conversion and Warrior Groups have certain nexus to destroy Bharat drastically.
  9. Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was murdered by Maoist and Christian joint action as revealed.
  10.  Mosques and Madarshas are being utilized as the help centres for the Muslim infiltrators.
Hindu culture is safe because of sadhana (Spiritual practice) of Rishis (Sages) in Himalayas !
Despite a number of assaults by foreign forces so far on Bharat, Hindu culture is still existent. Now we have come together for establishment of the Hindu Nation so that such assaults can be stopped. Just as we get blessings of Saints and Sages for this mission, Hindu Dharma and culture is also being saved due to Chaitanya (Divine Consciousness) emitted by many Saints who are performing penance in the caves of Himalaya Mountain. We must express gratitude unto them for this.

Hindus should set up their own TV channels ! – Raja Singh Thakur

Ramnathi, Ponda (Goa) : Now it is need of the hour that Hindus should start their own News channel. This appeal was made by Mr. Rajasingh Thakur, Editor, Shriram news channel, and the leader of Shriram Yuva sena. He was speaking on the fifth day of all India Hindu Convention.

Mr. Thakur added further that, “When we were able to gather lakhs of people on the day of Ramnavami, the Police began to object giving permission. At that time, Muslims resisted heavily. They attacked Shri Hanuman temple where event was going to take place and destroyed it. Devout Hindus vented their anger in a mild way. 'Four TV-channel' spread outright false news about the Hanuman Jayanti event.  'Four TV-channel' spread utterly false news that the Hindus pulled the Mosque down and threw pork meat on the Mosque. As a result all the Muslims were on the road. They attacked a cow pen near Sangmeshwar and burnt 8 cows alive, Attacked Hindu homes. All this happened because the Muslim channel showed false news. At that time we too thought that we should have a channel of our own and that is how ‘Shriram channel came into existence."

Shriram channel, a channel that is feared by the fanatics !

Traitors to Nation find our channel as an obstacle in their path. A Muslim MP has asked the cable operators in his area not to telecast the programs of Shriram channel. Though the viewership has reduced in that area, it has swelled in other places. If the Hindu organisations all over Bharat send us the video-CDs of different types of atrocities committed by the local Muslims, we will intensify our movement using them.

Media eager to destroy the Hindu line of thinking ! – Mr. B.R. Haran, Senior journalist

Mr. B. R. Haran, Senior Journalist, Chennai
Mr. B. R. Haran, Senior Journalist, Chennai

Ramnathi, Ponda (Goa) :
Hindu unity that is going to result from the All India Hindu Convention is going to be an achievement to be proud of. To be able to do that Hindu organisations should put in spirited efforts. The Indian media, under the pretext of Secularism, repeatedly attacked the religious customs, traditions, Temples etc. which are the conservators of the Indian culture. The media has become eager to destroy the Hindu line of thinking from India. These views were expressed by Mr. B.R. Haran on the last day of the All India Hindu Convention. He was speaking on the topic of ‘Hindus and the Media’ !

During the speech, he gave some examples to prove the point as followed :

1. Repeatedly defaming Shankaracharya, Dharmacharyas, Chiefs of sects, Saints, Mahants along with Sabarimala, Amarnath Temple, Kanchi Kamkoti Peeth, Jagannath Puri etc.
2. Organising debate sessions during festivals-celebrations such as Deepavali, Durgapuja, Janmashtami, Kumbhamela, Ganesh immersion, Ayyappa Makar Jyoti etc.
3. Purposefully avoid topics such as ‘Abolishing Article 370 of the Constitution’, ‘Hanging Mahammad Afzal’, ‘Bringing Common Civil Code’, ‘Passing a law to ban religious conversions’ etc.
4. Glorifying the western culture
How should the code of conduct for the media be ?
1. Do not give entry to Political parties or the Politicians in the media
2. Ban reality shows.
3. Do not publish the investigative articles without proofs.
4. There should be a selection committee for advertises.
5. Those news items that disturb the communal harmony should be banned.
6. The educational organisations being run by the Hindu sects should include course in journalism in the curriculum.

Group discussion of Editors of Hindu periodicals decides to enhance communication and coordination !

A group discussion was organised during the last session of the fourth day of the Convention on the topic, “How to keep coordination amongst Hindu periodicals ?” Editors and journalists had participated in the discussion. Decision to increase coordination amongst the Hindu periodicals was taken during the discussion. The summary of this discussion was presented by Mr. P. Deivamuthu, Group Editor of English Monthly ‘Hindu Voice’.

1. Create groups of Hindu periodicals on ‘Google’.
2. Increase the subscribers to these groups.
3. Establish a nationwide communication system of Hindu periodicals.
4. Through the medium of this system exchange the news and disseminate throughout the Nation after translating them in local languages.
5. Provide full help for those Hindu organisations who wish to start a periodical.
6. Exchange the contact numbers of devout Hindu journalists and make the union strong.

Now the goal is to form a Nationwide Hindu Union ! – Pujya Dr. Pingale

Ramnathi, Ponda (Goa): All India Hindu Convention for Establishment of the Hindu Rashtra that had the participation of Dharmacharyas, Saints, leaders of Hindu organisations, lawyers and intellectuals from 18 states of India right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari  was concluded here in the sacred land of Goa. It is a novel step from the perspective of establishment of the Hindu Rashtra. Now the mission of Hindu unity will be taken up in each State and District level nationwide. State level and District level conventions will be organised everywhere. Our only objective will be to form a nationwide unity of Hindus. A common minimum code has been decided for conducting Dharmarakshan activities. Hindu organisations will henceforth work according to a four point program consisting of Dharmashikshan (Education on Dharma) Dharmajagruti (Awakening of Dharma), Dharmarakshan (Protection of Dharma) and Hindu Unity for protection of Hindu Dharma and Hindus. Next year a similar Convention will be organised for reviewing all these activities. Pujya Dr. Charudatta Pingale, National Guide of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti said this while talking to the mediapersons on the concluding day of the All India Hindu Convention for Establishment of Hindu Rashtra. On this occasion other dignitaries namely Mr. Sanjeev Punalekar, Pro-Hindu lawyer, President of Shriram Sena, Mr. Pramod Mutalik , Mr. Arjun Sampat  of ‘Hindu Makkal Kachhi’ and Mr. Tapan Ghosh, President of ‘Hindu Samhati’, Bengal also addressed the newsmen.

From Left : Mr. Arjun Sampath, Hindu Makkal Katchi; Mr. Pramod Mutalik. Shriam Sena; Adv. Sanjeev Punalekar; Pujya (Dr.) Pingale, National Guide, HJS; Mr. Sural, National Unifier, HJS; Mr. Tapan Ghosh, Hindu Samhati

Will provide legal assistance to Hindu organisations ! – Adv. Sanjeev Punalekar

Advocate Sanjeev Punalekar said, “In this convention, the Hindu intellectuals and editors of Hindu periodicals have decided to provide intellectual support to the union of Hindu organisations. Hindu lawyers have agreed upon providing legal assistance to the Hindu organisations and Hindu activists who conduct campaigns for Dharmarakshan. A decision on establishing a ‘National Hindu Lawyers Association’ of Hindu lawyers nationwide, will soon be taken. This association will launch Public Interest Litigations in Courts in the interest of Nation and Dharma.”

Measures to stop terrorism will be taken ! – Mr. Pramod Mutalik, President, Shriram Sena

Mr. Pramod Mutalik, Chief of Shriram Sena said, “The terrorism of non-Hindus that is spreading in various ways is not only the problem of Hindus; but is a National problem. Measures to end this menace were discussed in this Convention. In Hindu Rashtra womenfolk will be able to move fearlessly.”

We will make a strong demand for making stringent laws for extradition of the Bangladeshi infiltrators ! – Mr. Tapan Ghosh, President, Hindu Samhati, Bengal

Mr. Tapan Ghosh said that, Hindus who were 29% in Bangladesh have been reduced to 9%. There were two instances of extreme atrocities on Hindus, 6th December 1992 and between 1st  and 10th October 2001. Therefore we demand that the Hindus in Bangladesh should be called back, given protection and given citizenship; simultaneously 5 crore infiltrators from Bangladesh should be extradited. These infiltrators from Bangladesh are insolent and are in the forefront of the terrorist activities all over Bharat. It is through them that the terrorist organisations from Pakistan and Bangladesh are active in Bharat. The union Government along with the Governments of Assam and Bengal are nurturing them. There is every likelihood of these terrorists becoming the rulers of these States in times ahead.  Hence, Hindu organisation will make a strong demand for making stringent laws for extradition of the Bangladeshi infiltrators. This was stated by Mr. Tapan Ghosh, President, Hindu Samhati, Bengal.

Establishment of Hindu Rashtra through constitutional means only ! - Pujya (Dr.) Pingale

1. Establishment of Hindu Rashtra will be done through constitutional means only. We will not use any illegal means for the creation of Hindu Rashtra. Hindus will be educated about their rights and public opinion will be created. Due to the pressure of public opinion, the rulers will have to take decisions in the interest of Hindus.

2. Rulers will be educated on the undeclared ban on the picture of killing of Afzal Khan and teaching of the true history to Hindus. If they do not comply, taking the help of pro-Hindu historians, new true history will be written.

3. Supreme Court has declared the construction around Afzal Khan's tomb as illegal. Despite this, if the present rulers are not demolishing it, they themselves are committing an illegal act. Hence, if any Hindu demolishes it in a fit of rage, it can actually prove to be an act in accordance with the Supreme Court's judgment. It is the duty of reporters to pester the rulers by bringing up this issue.

4. All Hindu organisations were invited to this Convention. Even representatives of Bajrang Dal, RSS have participated.

5. If Maharashtra Government does want to pass the Anti Faith (Anti-superstitions) Bill, they should draft it with the help of Dharmacharyas and Saints who know 'What is faith'. Any Bill which is drafted with the help of those against faith is likely to be anti-Hindu. We are opposed to the anti-Hindu scheming of the rulers.

God's grace and blessings of Saints are our only weapons ! - Pujya (Dr.) Pingale

Replying to one question in the press conference, Pujya Pingale said that our ideals are Prabhu Shriram, Prabhu Shrikrushna, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj etc. Our only weapons are God's grace and blessings of Saints. On their strength we will make efforts to increase the Kshatratej and Brahmatej in us and in Hindus. As a result, we will not need any other weapon for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra.

Views expressed by Adv. Sanjeev Punalekar

Even Muslims in the country will accept uniform civil code !

Today, there is uniform civil code in Goa. Even then Muslims are coming and settling in Goa in large numbers. This means that the Muslims over here are not troubled by this law. On these lines, to execute the instructions of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, we have to implement this law throughout the country. Muslims across the country may accept it.

How can those who believe Dharma to be an opium pill make a law on Dharma ?

Today's rulers are taking the help of an organization that is being investigated regarding its association with Naxalites to draft the Anti-faith (Anti-superstitions) Bill. This is wrong. How can those who believe that Dharma is an opium pill draft a Bill related to Dharma ? If these rulers are really concerned about the seats of veneration of Hindus, they should not allow Hindu temples to become tourist spots. They should put an end to the corruption in the temples taken over by the Government.

H.H. Dr. Athavale on 'Outcome of the Hindu Adhiveshan'

H.H. Dr. Jayant Athavale, Sanatan Sanstha

Development of an emotion of unity among the Hindu organisations is the biggest outcome of the Convention !

The ultimate goal of all the Hindu organisations is establishment of the Hindu Nation. The day-to-day activities of all the Hindu organisations are directed towards the cause of Nation and Dharma. Effectively it means that all the Hindu organisations had the same goal and their actions too were similar; yet, there was no unity among them. Consequently no one was able to see or experience the manifestation of the strength of Hindu unity. Post ‘All India Hindu Convention’ unity of the Hindu organisations will be felt. Feeling of loneliness of Hindu organisations will be wiped out and with a confidence that ‘we all are Pandavs’, they will be active for the protection of Dharma and ultimately the goal of establishing the Hindu Nation will be achieved.

- H.H. Dr. Jayant Athavale,  Sanatan Sanstha

All those who are active for the cause of Nation and Dharma, always remember that door of Sanatan Sanstha is wide open for you ! – H.H. Dr. Athavale

1. ‘If you feel the need of individual guidance in sadhana (spiritual practice), contact Sanatan’s seekers in your District or State any time. They will guide you affectionately.

2. If you want to discuss an issue pertaining to Nation and Dharma or if you face any difficulty, you can contact seekers of Sanatan any time.’

Mr Zardari, will you protect Hindus in Pakistan? - Tarun Vijay

Tarun Vijay, the BJP MP, would like to ask President Asif Ali Zardari : 'Is the ease available to a Pakistani Muslim to visit his places of faith in India also available to an Indian Hindu to visit his places of worship in Pakistan?'

The Zardari visit has created so much of noise on the television news channels and chatteratti addas in other media that this hype defies any logic.

Since he is coming to India on a private visit, and badly bruised at home, he is naturally seeking some solace. He must be welcomed and given all honours due to a foreign head of State. Period.

The expectations and hopes end there.

He is neither in control of his nation nor do we have a prime minister who can discuss business over a biryani session.

Since Asif Ali Zardari is not on a secular mission, I may like to ask him: Is the ease and smoothness available to a Pakistani Muslim to visit his places of faith in India, so well protected and kept in the best of shape, also available to an Indian Hindu to visit his places of worship in Pakistan?

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Pakistan as part of a high-level delegation led by our learned and suave Lok Sabha Speaker  Mrs Meira Kumar. In spite of my request, made in advance, in India and even after reaching Pakistan, to visit at least one Hindu temple in Lahore , (I didn't mention Islamabad , as it has none), the Pakistani authorities could not show me even one temple.

When in Islamabad I asked Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, a veteran friend of India and president of the Pakistan Muslim League, about the renovation promised by the then Pakistan government on the famous Katas Raj temple, in the wake of Mr L K Advani's visit, he replied, 'We are trying to have the work started. I have written to the prime minister that at least he should now begin something there.'

This is the state of promises made by a government which seeks friendship with a Hindu majority India.

Forget Hafiz Saeed. The United States will take care of him. But can't we, the meek seekers of Most Favoured Nation status and believers in the principle of a trader that increased trade will also increase the chances of peace and enhance trust, ask Mr Zardari whether he can ensure that an innocent Sarabjeet Singh is released and sent back home?

The proof that Sarabjeet Singh is a victim of mistaken identity is accepted by all, even in Pakistan, but a hate-ridden atmosphere and weak governance has not enabled a bold decision.

The other issue that needs to be taken up during the biryani lunch with Mr Zardari is to make an appeal to save the honour, faith and life of Rinkel Kumari, a brave Hindu girl of Sindh who became another victim of mullahs who converted her against her will.

Her statement in the supreme court of Pakistan must be read by everyone who believes in basic human rights. She told the court that even at the cost of death, she would not abandon her Hindu Dharma.

A report by Jibran Khan, titled 'Hindu girl to Pak SC: Rather die than convert to Islam' (http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Hindu-girl-tells-Supreme-Court-she-would-rather-die-than-convert-to-Islam-24358.html) says that 'Seized by an influential Muslim, with the "political cover" of an elected official, 19-year-old Rinkel Kumari launches a desperate appeal to the courts.'

Each year there are 300 forced marriages and conversions in Pakistan.

'In Pakistan there is justice only for Muslims, justice is denied to Hindus. Kill me here, now, in court. But do not send me back to the Darul-Aman... kill me.' This is the desperate, heartbreaking, plea by Rinkel Kumari, who has entrusted her heartfelt appeal to the judges of the Pakistan supreme court in Islamabad.

Her story is similar to that of many other young women and girls belonging to religious minorities in Pakistan -- Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Ahmadis -- kidnapped by extremist groups or individuals, who convert them by force and then marry them. And that is what the girl said on March 26, before the supreme court judges.

'The drama of Rinkel Kumari, a student of Mirpur Mathelo, a small village in Sindh, began the evening of February 24. A handful of men seized her and delivered her a few hours later to a wealthy Muslim scholar. The man then called her parents, warning them that their daughter "wants to convert to Islam".'

'Nand Lal, the girl's father, a teacher of an elementary school, accused Naveed Shah, an influential Muslim, of kidnapping his daughter. The man has the "political cover" provided by Mian Mittho, an elected National Assembly member...'

After identifying those responsible for his daughter's kidnapping, Nand Lal was compelled to leave the village. 'The father found refuge and welcome in a gurdwara in Lahore, in Punjab province, with the rest of his family.'

If America can take up the fight for Mukhtaran Mai and the Western media go all out to help her struggle against savage Mullahism, why can't India speak out for Rinkel Kumari, whose story is a spine-chilling account of Pakistan's hate? I know none from the Indian media will ever go to Rinkel Kumari's village or try to interview her and her unfortunate parents.

Atrocities on Hindus is not news for a Hindu-dominated media nor a politically correct issue for politicians who cross all limits to speak for the pain and suffering of Palestinians, Sri Lankan Tamils and Bosnian and Chechnya Muslims.

This is a strange situation in the Indian media and politics, where a Hindu is considered to be appreciated and sympathised with only when s/he is acting against Hindu sensitivities.

Maybe Mr Zardari would like to answer these questions while he is on a prayer mission in India.

Tarun Vijay, a member of the Rajya Sabha, is a national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party . He is a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs.
